Well came across this intresting game which can be played on the calc.

its a pretty good game for killling your time so here it goes.

before you realized its gone

well got my usb to serial port converter few days back….initially it gava a lot of problems but somehow managed to make it work

assuming that you have the driver for your cable ..lets get started

the problem that is faced by me is that the ports that ponyprog was showing  was COM3 and COM4 but hey were occupied by some other applications  and the device manager showed that my serial port adapter is on COM5

so here is what i did(rather say what soumen and me did)

1.    Go to the device manager by right clicking on my computer and then on properties.

2.    Select port to see if your device manager is detecting your adapter or not.

3.     If its not detecting it that means your driver is not installed if you don’t have the drivers seach on net…or try too know the chipset used   then you can surely get the drivers( i got prolific 2303 working for me)

4.    Now if its detecting it go to the properties of the adapter,then on port settings and click on advanced change the port to COM1 or COM3 if its not used

5.    Restart the device manager .it will now show the port you selected..

6.    Now in my case i was using pony prog…so here is what i did..

7.    Attached my micro controller and calibrated it..

8.    Go to device set-up and select AVR micro—->at mega 16 (as i have this board).

9.    Now select security and configure.  bits from the above menu and check CK OPT,BOOT SZ0, BOOT S 71

10.   That’s all we did…………..time to burn the code press ctrl+w

ps: well it takes a hell lot of time to burn the code ……abort the verify operation as it takes a lot of time and always gives an error…its not a big deal as our code was working perfectly even after aborting verify

Well i m writing this post after a long time. well there is loads to etalk about…..first the techfest of the college called “Techtatva”. this time saw many changes in the techfest ….and was part of few of them myself.

first one was the whole process of registration was done realtime due to ankur’s work. then had a great fest this time with friends orgnizing the new look computer science events which in my opinion were refreshing.was part of mobivision event ….a rather new one. loved watching participants come with really good ideas….some of them were so good that  i wished i had those inbulit in my phone.particularly those involving free voice mailbox and other one was the alarm .here are some pics of the event i would like to share with all

was fortunate enough to get a good pool of volunteers to help me out with the event.had a great time with friends during that period.

but then everytime you feels life is on the right track something or other happens………yeah u guessed it rite….exams took place as as expected from the electrical dept. of our college they screwed us all…..if that was not enough for authorities they gave us a hell lot of assignments and guess what these morons have the time to check it and reject it saying its copied….wtf…….and also the people here don’t celebrate diwali in big way so the festival everyone back home is celebrating with such a zeal and intrest i ended up having just the dinner with friends and going to the college when whole north india was enjoying the fun and the real blast with fire-crackers……well that’s all cant think of much to write nw ……….just that i m looking fwd to the next week bcoz we have a linux insatll fest and guess what misery still don’t leave me …….i have my lab examinations next week too…………………

well you must be amazed…..none of computers in our computer labs have firefox installed..

we got the chance yesterday to install firefox in our doomed computer lab authorities call our lab stata to art and well equiped and guess what none have linux…… well only god can save us from these jerks …

Before moving on further i wou
ld like to explain about the exit key handler.. The exitkey handler gets activated when you press the right (exit) softkey. By assigning an extra function to the .exit_key_handler you can define what shall happen when it is pressed.

Besides importing the familiar appuifw module, we also need a module named e32. This module offers many useful low-level utility objects and functions related to Symbian OS functionalities. Here we

the application when the user presses the Exit key. Since we could have a number of functions to perform various tasks, we need to tell Python which function is dedicated to handling the Exit events.
This is done by assigning the function name (not its value) to the special appuifw.app.exit key handler variable. When the user presses the Exit key, the function that this variable refers to is called by
the UI framework. In many situations, Python expects you to provide a function name that is used to call the corresponding function when some event has occurred. Functions of this kind are called callback functions.

what is a module….?

Technicallty saying module can be defined as a file that contains a collection of related functions and realted data grouped together…..or in a very crude way its something like iostream in c++

we started with appuifw module which stands for( APPLICATION  USER INTERFACE FRAMEWORK)

To use a module in our code we have to import it in the beginning  of the script only….

“info” gives the i symbol in the note it stands of any thing informing the user about something……like keypad getting locked or unlocked.Here u used in the symbol represents the unocode(about Unicode i would rather suggest you to refer wikipedia)
in place of “info” we can also use “error” and “conf”
i would suggest the people to try it out themselves and see what they do…………………
after the note function we moved on to query function………………
